International cooperation between Algeria and Russia on the sidelines of the “Metrology Without Borders” forum.
This agreement covers several key areas, such as the mutual recognition of measurement and calibration results, the joint development and certification of measurement methods, particularly those applicable to the oil and gas industries — sectors that are vital to the Algerian economy. It also provides for the development of a specific standard for a high-pressure natural gas volumetric flow unit based on Russian technologies.
In addition, the agreement promotes the regular organization of expert meetings, seminars, and conferences, creating a permanent framework for the exchange of expertise and technical cooperation. This collaboration will enable Algeria to strengthen metrological traceability, ensuring the reliability of measurement instruments essential to its industrial and commercial development.
The Forum also brought together representatives from several countries, including experts from the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), who discussed procedures for the recognition of measuring instruments and the challenges related to their approval in different member states, highlighting the importance of regional synergy in the field of metrology.
For OAM, this commitment represents a strategic step toward deeper integration into international metrology initiatives, contributing to the modernization of its infrastructure and the improvement of product and service quality in Algeria.
